Windsor Charities

Windsor is a town very much centered around community spirit and heart. The town cares about the arts, animals, children, and each other. Though there are many great non-profits and other charitable organizations throughout Sonoma County, here are a few of our favorites within Windsor.

Friends of Windsor Library
9291 Old Redwood Highway
Building 100
Windsor, CA 95492

Entirely non-profit, the Friends of the Windsor Library is a great organization that gathers funds for materials, supplies, and furnishing for the Windsor Public Library. The group also presents free public art shows to build a sense of the importance of art in the community. Visit the group at the local Windsor Farmers Market where all proceeds raised go directly back to the library.

National Women’s History Project
7738 Bell Rd
Department E
Windsor, CA 95492

The National Women’s History Project focuses on recognizing the achievements of women in all aspects of history, hoping to encourage young women and girls to become aware of the female influences in history. The NWHP is nationally recognized as the primary resource of information and material about the roles women have played throughout history. Though the NWHP is located in Santa Rosa, Windsor has a location, as well. Each autumn, the Windsor branch of the NWHP issues a Women’s History Catalog that draws awareness to accomplished women throughout history, furthering the education on the roles that women have played in building our country.

Windsor Arts Council
PO Box 1864
Windsor, CA 95492

The Windsor Arts Council is an entirely not-for-profit association that focuses on fostering culture through the arts. The council is open to anyone within Sonoma County. They encourage you to pay a once-annual membership fee to partake in all art events, bimonthly artist meetings, shows, contests, and discounts at local art stores. The council is passionate about appreciating the arts, and welcomes all members who share that love with them.
